Festivus 6.0 A Free Open-air Celebration
Central Park, NYC July 12, 2008
New York, NY Electronic Music Umbrella (EMU) presents its 6th
installment of Festivus, a free outdoor electronic music celebration.
The event will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008 from 3pm to 8pm on
the Great Hill in Central Park. Hosting its third year at Central Park
and its sixth annual installment to date, Festivus continues its
successful revolutionary journey. DJs Behrouz, Tedd Patterson, Eric
Kupper and Trent Cantrelle are all volunteering their time and talents
in support of this truly remarkable event.
Electronic Music Umbrella (EMU) is an urban grassroots consortium
dedicated to promoting publicly performed electronic music as an art
form. The non-profit organization's mission is to create spaces for
electronic music fans to enjoy dancing in the daylight. They believe
electronic music is the music that speaks in the frequency of our
soul. The event coordinators, Alexander Dunlop, Andy Zankel, Mike
"Smilez" Longo and Joe Levy named the music celebration after the
already well-known faux holiday "for the rest of us" featured in TV's
Seinfeld.
EMU has hosted numerous successful events over the past five years,
each of which have been free and open to the public of all ages.
Previous events have been held at Battery Park, and most recently,
Central Park in 2007. Last year's line up included Hector Romero,
Exacta, Steven Lee and Alex Pearce.
Stay tuned for after-party info, coming soon! And catch Behrouz's new
album "Pure Behrouz" out now on Nervous Records.
