“In 1997, we convinced the night manager of Denny’s on South Beach to let us put in a sound system and black out the windows and we bought 300 breakfasts for our guests. This party was called “Nervous Denny’s Afterhours” and it’s just one of those amazing things you just don’t see anymore. We’ll certainly go all out to make our fans happy this year, though, and you can bet we’ll continue a legacy of great Nervous events in Miami!”

- Michael Weiss, CEO, Nervous Records

Rephlektor inkorporated is pleased to announce the official WMC live event from seminal NYC house music label Nervous Records. “The Nervous Terrace” is set to take place on Friday, March 28 at Nocturnal in downtown Miami and will feature talent closely tied to Nervous Records.

In celebrating it’s rich past while also looking toward the future of house music, the “Nervous Terrace” will feature music from talent confirmed to release full artist albums and/or mix CDs through Nervous Records in 2008. These releases include Oscar G’s debut artist album INNOV8, Ralph Falcon’s debut artist album Hollywood To Hialeah, Starkillers and Austin Leeds Nervous Nitelife Vegas, Behrouz Pure Behrouz NYC, Chris Lake (TBA), Mark Brown Nervous Nitelife: London and DJ Theo Summer Clubbing V2. Each of these artists will be spinning at the event and will offer the current sound of house music innovator, Nervous Records.

Launched in 1991 by Michael Weiss, Nervous Records has played a serious hand in blowing up the global house music scene. Throughout the years, Nervous generated hits across a wide spectrum of club music. The label officially launched with the Roger Sanchez produced track Niceguy Soulman “Feel It” (1991), but was really put on the map with hits including Sandy B’s “Feel Like Singin’” (1992) and Winx’ “Don’t Laugh” (1993.) The label was also responsible for Nuyorican Soul’s first ever track ‘The Nervous Track,” Byron Stingily’s top 10 UK pop hit “Get Up Everybody,” Charlotte’s “Skin” and most recently Ralph Falcon’s 2007 #1 Billboard smash “I Need Someone,” among many others.

The mid-90’s was also a golden time for Hip-Hop in NYC and Nervous took full advantage of the talent pool in its backyard. Nervous Records is credited with discovering and signing Funkmaster Flex (before he started spinning on influential New York Hip-Hop radio station Hot 97), Black Moon, Smif-n-Wessun and Mad Lion. The albums “Enta Da Stage” by Black Moon and “Dah Shinin” by Smif-n-Wessun are now considered two of the top Hip-Hop albums of all time, and Mad Lion is considered a pioneer in the reggae Hip-Hop genre.
