Garraud without a doubt is one of my favorites for DJMAG top 100.
He can mix diferent styles in one set, can use old tracks with unreleased tunes, he go between the acid house to the electro. Always the crowd get mad when he spinn.
Also his tunes always have fresh elements.... is fantastic

TALKIN AUTO MASTERIN

Masterin a track i think is one of the most important part in the creation of a track.
Is a science.
How much compress?
How to give the vocals more importance?
etc?
Other time u just one re master a track that sound really bad. Sometime the rips of the vinyls from some of the scene enconders dont sound very good.
I start to usin the software Platinum Notes with very diferent results. Sometimes very good and sometime the song more bad than the orginal.
Really takes time to remaster a song usin vst plugins. One of my favorite is IZOtope. But take time and sometime u need to drag and drop a track to improve the quality.
I find other software for make automatic the masterin very is dificult to use.
The software is posted in past post, is called AAMS V2.1 - Auto Audio Mastering System.
Maybe some of the reader can write a little tutorials for newbies about how to use that program for improve the quality of some tracks

I been tryin to find more information about this remixers Femi B & Leggz, but i cant find anything.

Ricardo Villalobos - Fabric 36

Ricardo Villalobos is a Chilean-German electronic music producer and DJ. He is well-known for his work in the minimal techno and microhouse genres, and is one of the most significant figures in today's minimal techno scene.
Villalobos was born in Santiago, Chile in 1970.
When Ricardo was around 10 or 11 he started to play conga and bongos. Though he loved music, he could never see himself as a musician He began making electronic music in the late 80s. From a very young age he has been a big fan of Depeche Mode, even following their tours around Europe to listen to them.
Villalobos takes much of his inspiration from Depeche Mode, as well as other artists such as Daniel Miller, Thomas Melchior, Baby Ford, Daniel Bell and Andrew Weatherall. He has also taken inspiration from rhythmic South American music.
Villalobos began to play his music at parties while he was studying at university, but this was only for his own enjoyment. He started a label, Placid Flavour, in 1993 but this was unsuccessful. His first record was released on the German Playhouse label in 1994 and he began DJing as a professional in 1998.

Josh Wink - Herehear (1998)

Josh Wink (born Joshua Winkelman in 1970) is an electronic music DJ, label owner, producer, remixer, and artist. He is a native of Philadelphia, United States. A pioneering DJ in the American rave scene during the early 1990s, Wink was the most prominent exponent of the tribal forms of techno and house in the U.S. Wink's current style is a mixture of techno, acid, house, drum and bass, and experimental music. In 1995, he released several hits, including "Don't Laugh," "I'm Ready" (which hit number one on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart) and "Higher State of Consciousness," which topped the dance charts in Europe. He has had many recent club hits such as "How's Your Evening So Far?" (with Lil Louis) and "Superfreak (Freak)" and has also gained a lot of attention for his remixes of FC Kahuna, Paul Oakenfold, Moby, Towa Tei, Ladytron and Depeche Mode, among others.

Josh Wink also has founded his own successful record label called Ovum Recordings with King Britt. He also has worked with Ursula Rucker and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails.

Peter Brown has emerged from behind his decks, where his talent has been developing since 1995. He began by mixing hip-hop in a rap group (Kool 2 Source) and continued on his own, rapidly finding his home in a more electronic sound in 97. He has since become a prominent fixture in the toulousain scene because of his eclectics sets and an impeccable technique acquired from his earlier days in hip-hop. Since 1998, he has been a regular dj in the top music events in the south of France with the biggest names on the DJ circuit : Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills, Trevor Rockliffe, Claude Young, Dj Pierre, Erick Morillo, Harry Romero, Paul Johnson, Kenny Dope, Silicon Soul, Bob Sinclar, David Guetta, Jack de Marseille...and many more ; on his own or in collaboration with DJ SHNOW under the guise of THE BOOGIE MONSTERz . Resident at the club Mr Carnaval from 1999 to 2004, he has aslo been resident during the summer at lAmnesia(cap dagde) from 99 to 2002. From 2001, he has been integrated to the Parisians OPENHOUSE parties, which gave the opportunity to play in the cream of Frenchs clubs like Elysse Montmartre in Paris , in Nice at The Klub,....

2007 , in january he remixed Eddie Amador's track called "spotligh" available on MOCHICOPIMO! REC that enters directly in the Roger Sanchez’s top ten of march 07 and featured on his radio show “release yourself”. He signed his third E.P. "the game of love" on the french label POOL E MUSIC and remixed Rod Carrillo's brand new production called "arizona bump" on CARRILLO MUSIC. Increíble por lo caótico del aspecto que presentan las páginas, por las limitaciones que tiene y muchas más cosas pero al igual que Fotolog.com han conseguido que subir tus canciones y agregar a tus colegas sea fácil con lo que el resto sobra.

En fin, hay tantas canciones circulando por allí que al igual que supongo que a muchas personas les interese bajarlas y los trucos que he visto en castellano o ya no funcionan o son un poquillo enrevesados así que ahí va el tutorial

1. Descargar MySpace MP3 Gopher [link directo]

2. Averigua la ID del artista o usuario del que quieras descargar los temas. Para sacar esta ID vete a la página del usuario y pasa el ratón por ejemplo, por encima del link “Clasificar usuario”:

Verás como en la parte de abajo del navegador te aparece una dirección muy larga. Los últimos números son la ID del usuario:

3. Abre el programa Gopher e introduce la ID en la parte superior. Haz click en Get Song List para que te muestre las canciones disponibles bajo esa ID:

4. Haz doble click sobre la canción que te interese e indica donde la quieres guardar. Luego espera unos segundos, haz click en Download y a continuación como te indica en el play del reproductor:

5. Si tienes instalado un cortafuegos es probable que tengas que dar paso o desbloquear el acceso del programa para descargar la canción correctamente. Quizás tengas que volver a hacer doble click sobre la canción después.

6. Si todo va bien, mientras suena la canción verás en la parte inferior del reproductor un mensaje con “Received…” como el que se ve en la imagen.

Y para terminar un bonito mensaje de que tu canción ya está lista.

Korg's zero 4 is an all-in-one "core station" designed for dj performance, remix producers, and serious computer musicians. The zero 4 provides a digital mixer, audio interface, midi controller, and effect processor all in a single unit. Each channel can be switched between sources such as a turntable, cd player, microphone, computer, instrument, midi controller, or midi controller + audio to implement a sophisticated live mixing set-up with the simplicity of a firewire connection. In 1989, the trio teamed up with singer/model Catherine Quinol (AKA Katrin) and formed Black Box. By early 1990, Martha Wash was engaged to perform vocals on a number of tracks which, Ms. Walsh was apparently told, were ostensibly for club consumption and weren't for mass-release. One would be "Everybody, Everybody," which would become one of their two top ten hits in North America. The album "Dreamland" was released.

The first single "Ride On Time" was an international hit, making Top 10 in many countries and No.1 in the UK, soon becoming the UK's best-selling single of 1989. The song heavily sampled "Love Sensation" by Loleatta Holloway, a 1978 disco hit. The Black Box title may derive from a misunderstanding of the lyrics "Cause you're right on time".

Dan Hartman's permission was not sought for the sampling of the vocals to his song and soon after the international success of "Ride on Time," questions arose as to the true vocalist on the song. Legal proceedings revealed that Loleatta Holloway actually sang the vocals on "Ride on Time" from the "Love Sensation" samples and Black Box surrendered a large percentage of the royalties to the song to Dan Hartman and Loleatta Holloway. The song eventually did make it onto the "Dreamland" album when it was released later in 1990 as well as the Hits and Mixes Compilation, as well as numerous other compilations. A new version of the track with vocals by Heather Small appeared both as a single and on the album. Subsequent releases, as well as the album tracks, also featured a then-uncredited Martha Wash as vocalist. Quinol lip-synched the vocals in "live" performances and in music videos. Martha Wash sued Black Box, RCA and then C+C Music Factory for performing vocals on their respective songs and not receiving due credit. These legal actions lead to the legal recognition of vocalists who perform songs for other artists, including samplings. Wash received full vocal credit on "Strike It Up" but still featured Quinol lip synching in the music video.

A megamix featuring cuts already released and entitled "The Total Mix" performed well in the charts towards the end of 1990. Various minor hits followed in the UK throughout the decade. In America, they are best remembered for their early '90s singles "Everybody, Everybody", "I Don't Know Anybody Else", and "Strike It Up", their biggest hit in the United States, where all three of their hits are still heard on rhythmic radio and in clubs on a fairly regular basis to this day. They were also featured in two Jock Jams albums respectively.

Black Box remains one of the few piano-house groups to reach success. Dreamland earned a gold disc in both the UK and the US and achieved double-platinum status in Australia where it spent eight weeks at #1 during early 1991. Along the way, it also spawned six massive hit singles, both on the mainstream charts and in the clubs.

Lot of expectation is causin the new remixes of the song Everybody Everybody of italian group, Black Box.
The members of the group included a trio made up of a club DJ (Daniele Davoli), a classically trained clarinet teacher (Valerio Semplici) and a keyboard and electronic music "wiz" (Mirko Limoni.)

Gairy Brown returns for the 3rd year anniversary with his legendary EDEN series event. This was a very special EDEN held at the Docks in Toronto. Star 69 Records Hector Fonseca, and Cajjmere Wray played the main room, and DJ's Dwayne Minard and Shawn Riker spun in the Elektofonic lounge sponsored by Fly Nightclub. Special live performances included MAYA SIMANTOV (Israel, Offer Nissim), and NINA ARSENAULT (Toronto). It was a night like no other!

Welcome to AAMS, the introduction towards Automatic Audio Mastering! As a musician or technician working on music sound material, you need the best sound possible when material is released towards the public. How do you know when audio material is equalized correctly and plays as loud and evenly on all audio-systems when its been mastered ?
This is where AAMS steps in and takes control!

AAMS features Fully Automatic Audio Mastering. This wil take little instruction and processing time only. The user has got just few things to do. Basically this means when you import your audio material as Source and choose a Reference to match, AAMS is setup and ready to Go!

Eighter a user can use Fully Automatic Audio Mastering or Manual Mastering with the AAMS Program, the basic functions for getting started are about the same;

• 1. Audio material first needs to be analyzed to make a new Source Preset.
• 2. Load the newly analyzed Source Preset file as a Source.
• 3. Load a Reference from the database (100+ Musical Reference Styles).

AAMS will then automaticly generate the mastered audio file, all you need to do is wait for the outcome.

This is where AAMS steps in and takes control!

Also you can see all suggestions and corrections AAMS has calculated in Charts and Grids. You can export a Firium Preset for use with Firium EQ Vst Plugin. You can also do all work manually or in semi-automatic mode. Eigther you are a user that just want to do things fast-and-easy or you are more into the mastering process. AAMS can be a solution for all mastering purpoces. Making the AAMS program a good learning tool for Mixing and Mastering audio.
